Right to Dream ensures that every current and future student has a clear pathway to an athletic, academic, or vocational future.
Through the Right to Dream International Pathway, student-athletes in our community have a clear next step, with support towards different futures.
INTERNATIONAL PATHWAY
Around the age of 15–16, or earlier for exceptional talent, student-athletes enter the Right to Dream International Pathway, where they progress through one of two routes: the Pro Pathway or the Student-Athlete Pathway.
Their route is based on their development, potential, and ambitions.
PRO PATHWAY
Accelerated football development towards the professional game
Student-athletes on the Pro Pathway remain enrolled in their local Right to Dream academy or club while accessing enhanced opportunities designed to support their football development.
These can include international training environments, competitive matches and tournaments, where Pro Pathway student-athletes compete collectively as RTD International. They also get exposure to different coaches, teams, and players across the Right to Dream community.
Student-athletes may also travel internationally for tournaments, training camps and other development opportunities. The pathway also ensures continued education and personal development support.

STUDENT-ATHLETE PATHWAY
Scholarship and higher education opportunities in the US and the UK
Student-athletes on the Student-Athlete Pathway transition from their local academy into scholarship school environments in the US or UK.
Right to Dream supports them through this transition, helping them navigate a new country, school and stage of life.
Support can include: scholarship placement, school and country transition, relocation and integration, pastoral care and mentorship, navigating education and college progression.
Student-athletes remain connected to the Right to Dream community throughout this transition, with the pathway supporting their development towards higher education and, where relevant, future professional football or vocational opportunities.

Right to Dream graduates have gone on to play professional football, represent their countries, and study at leading universities.
Our International Pathway has supported players including Mikkel Damsgaard, Mohammed Kudus, Mohamed Diomande, Simon Adingra, Kamaldeen Sulemana, Adamo Nagalo, Daniel Svensson, Andreas Schjelderup, Ernest Nuamah, Patrick Dorgu, Conrad Harder, Grace Ruth Sery and N’Sira Safi Ouedraogo.
Others have combined their football journeys with education, including Ousseni Bouda, who graduated from Stanford University and went on to play professionally, Shakur Mohammed, a Duke University alumnus who has also continued his professional football career, and Joy Okonye, currently studying and playing football at Brown University.
